• All participants must sign up by October 7th, 2016 at 11:59 PM EDT
    • Signing up consists of completing the Application Form below with a detailed Summary of Proposed Research Methodology
    • Participants will be notified of their selection and provided with a CUSP login prior to the Kickoff Event
  • All submissions must be in English and through the designated area in CUSP’s data facility by November 14, 2016 12:00 AM EST
    • All submissions must be in a CSV file and a written narrative of results and methods used, and solution if applicable
      • Must include privacy risk to passenger
    • Participants need to be in the USA to be eligible for the prizes.
    • All Contestants agree to keep the TLC data and any personally identifiable information confidential
    • All judging will be conducted on a double-blind basis with no judge having an interest in the outcome of the Hackathon

Release

By entering the Hackathon, you are agreeing to grant the TLC and CUSP the right to use, publically display, publish and reproduce, for all purposes, including publicity and analysis, the team name and each team member’s name and submission. The team member also grants the TLC and CUSP the right to create, use, publish and reproduce any analysis that derives from any and all Hackathon submissions.

 

Hackathon Affidavit

“I affirm that I will not use the 2014 TLC trip data provided in 2nd Annual NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission Hackathon (“Hackathon”) outside of the scope of the Hackathon or for any purpose other than the objectives of the Hackathon, including the use of the data for academic research outside of the Hackathon. I agree that by sending a submission for consideration, I own the intellectual property rights in my (team’s) entry but license the intellectual property to the TLC and CUSP to reproduce and publically display the submission for the purpose of evaluating and analyzing the intellectual property.

I acknowledge that any violation of the above will result in the forfeiture of my submission for the Hackathon and may subject me to further legal or enforcement action from TLC and/or CUSP."
